Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the grant program, organizations must fit the eligibility criteria.
Eligible schools and nonprofits include, but are not limited to, the following focus areas:
- Health, human & social services nonprofits
- Civil rights, social action & advocacy groups
- Environmental nonprofits
- Environmental alliance & advocacy organizations
- Wildlife preservation & protection groups
- Creative organizations
- Arts & humanities councils/agencies
- Media, publishing & communications nonprofits
- Community organizations & neighborhood development organizations
- Education/training organizations
- Public and private schools
- Educational alliances & advocacy groups
- Educational services nonprofits
- Vocational counseling and job training nonprofits
- Youth development groups
- Philanthropy and voluntarism foundations & grant-making foundations with annual budgets of less than $100,000
Ineligible nonprofits include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Commercial organizations, credit-counseling services, donation middleman services, and organiza tions that derive the bulk of their revenue from user!fees
- Organizations that are religious or political in nature are not eligible for the program unless they plan to use the mobile broadband accounts for social welfare, school, or community initiatives.
- Hate group organizations are not eligible to purchase accounts from Mobile Citizen.
